As one of the leading developers of in-app Spotify experiences at the time I was a part of a 3-person team to build a Mushroom Records application. This application was a unique way for Mushroom records to represent their artists to Spotify users and they were one of the first record labels in the world to create an experience like this.

This is an older project from deep in the back catalogue, but it’s really worth shining a light on for a few key reasons.
The first reason is that no one was really doing these types of builds at the time. Single page applications were barely a concept when this was built, and this application was built purely in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
The application had many of the nice things we take for granted today such as state management, templating, and a fun developer experience. All developed in house and primarily in vanilla JavaScript and old school technologies like jQuery.
